Kruger
The golf courses close to the Kruger Park have a special charm not experienced in many other parts of the world. Animals occasionally can be seen on the fairways, hippos can be heard at the water holes and the landscape of the bushveld has a unique quality and serenity. The Kruger National Park in South Africa is best known for the 'Big Five' - Lion, Elephant, Leopard, Buffalo and Rhino - and is truly the flagship of Africa and South Africa's game reserves.
Playing golf on the outskirts of the Kruger Park means you can combine your favourite sport with the bush and wildlife-viewing activities. There are a number of top championship courses in the area as well as a few interesting alternatives which provide a whole new experience to playing golf. The Kruger National Park Golf courses have two of the top 20 ranked courses in South Africa namely the exclusive Leopard Creek Golf Club ranked one in South Africa and Hans Merensky which is ranked 20th. Other interesting courses in the area are the Sabi River Golf Course, White River Golf Club and the 9-hole course at Skukuza which is actually inside the Kruger National Park!
