We have played this new course and know that it will quickly rocket up the ratings and become one of South Africa’s finest courses. Jack Nicklaus has moulded a fantastic piece of links land and made something unique. St Francis Links carries a look and feel that breathes history from times gone by and will challenge all who play it. The town of St Francis is well placed en route to or from an Eastern Cape safari.

Humewood Golf Course

A championship links course rated as one of the best in South Africa. Situated on the sand dunes on the shores of Algoa Bay in Port Elizabeth, the fairways are exposed, undulating and wide to compensate for strong winds. Bunkers are few with steep faces, greens are firm and fast, the rough is thick coastal bush and there are no water hazards. Play this superb course on a South African golf holiday combining the Garden Route with a safari.

Simola Golf Course

If your golf holiday in South Africa includes the Knysna on the Garden Route we recommend you play at Simola. Set high inland, Simola Golf Club, designed by Jack Nicklaus, offers stunning views across the lagoon. A good test whatever your standard of play, the course winds through two valleys and golf carts are a must. The second tee is in an elevated position and we loved the hang-time driving down into the valley.

Stay in one of the many Guest Houses in the Oranjezicht district in Cape Town, only a 15 minute walk through the park to the Waterfront they offer great value for money.
