Situated between the Cape Winelands the Jack Nicklaus designed Pearl Valley Golf Course is surrounded by the picturesque mountains. The open parkland course, fairly flat with numerous bunkers and with water coming into play on most holes is bordered by vineyards and a river runs through it. Golfers need to think their way around this intriguing course and for a golf holiday in South Africa that includes golf in the Cape Winelands we highly recommend it.

Designed by Gary Player, this beautifully manicured championship course boasts some of the country’s most challenging and spectacular holes. Erinvale’s demanding front nine meanders through parkland terrain, whilst the back nine provide a contrasting challenge winding its way through the foothills of the mountains with panoramic views of False Bay. We would recommend going out to Erinvale even if your South African golf holiday does not include staying in the Cape Winelands.

This championship links style golf course lies high above the heaving Indian Ocean and the vast Knysna lagoon - a sweeping spectacle of fairways and greens rolling through the pristine indigenous landscape. The terrain of rolling fairways, fynbos and eyebrow bunkers make the course difficult to walk making the use of golf carts a necessity. One of the top courses in South Africa and we highly recommend playing here on your golf holiday.

Garden Route golf course, Par 72 - m

If your golf holiday in South Africa includes the Knysna on the Garden Route we recommend you play at Simola. Set high inland, Simola Golf Club, designed by Jack Nicklaus, offers stunning views across the lagoon. A good test whatever your standard of play, the course winds through two valleys and golf carts are a must. The second tee is in an elevated position and we loved the hang-time driving down into the valley.
