We have been arranging golf holidays to South Africa for 12 years and have been fortunate enough to have stayed in the hotels, played the courses and enjoyed the wonderful wine, food and scenery that the Rainbow Nation has an abundance of. Mark

Mark is a member of Portsalon Golf Club in Donegal Ireland and also regularly plays at Clandeboye and Scrabo near to Belfast. Running a golf travel business has given him the opportunity to play some amazing courses all over the globe including South Africa the country of his birth. "South Africa offers the opportunity to play world class courses in stunning locations and is for those who want a golfing adventure rather than a resort holiday.".

Favourite Course: Fancourts Montagu and Outeniqua courses are hard to beat but the new St Francis Links just pips them at the post
Best Moment: Being first to tee off on a group trip to SA with everyone hovering about and managing to hit one straight down the middle, a relatively rare occurrence!
Favourite Tour: Cape Town, Winelands and Garden Route golf with a safari

Gerard

Gerard is a member of Holywood Golf Club County Down, Northern Ireland where Rory McIlroy hails from. "I have been lucky enough to travel to some wonderful places across the globe and I love nothing more than sharing my knowledge with our customers. South Africa is a beautiful country and I cannot recommend it highly enough. It is the ultimate golfer’s paradise and there are world class courses at every turn. South Africa has courses to whet every appetite and of particular note are Simola and Pezula which are located in the heart of the Garden Route. Two brilliant courses which have been expertly designed and crafted into the wonderful surrounding land and scenery. North of Johannesburg in the Limpopo Region you will find the outstanding Legends Golf and Safari Resort home to the world famous par 3 ‘Extreme 19th Hole’ which Mark and I were lucky enough to play. One word describes this hole – Breathtaking! No other golf experience in the world is like this. A helicopter takes you to the tee box which is situated on the edge of a cliff. You then drive off (Yes you need a driver for this par 3!) towards the green 400meters below. Once all your 6 balls have been dispatched the helicopter appears and whisks you back down to finish the hole. ABTA: Why we are not members of ABTA
We are not members of ABTA as we are tour operators and not travel agents, the difference is that travel agents buy holidays from a third party whilst we as Tour Operators deal direct with hotels, airlines etc. All ABTA members have to buy from ATOL holders as this means the holiday has financial protection.
